I’ve been interviewed! The lovely woman who’s interviewed me is Dorothy Dreyer, who’s also an aspiring writer. She interviews fellow aspiring writers and then tracks and updates on their journey to publication! You can find Dorothy here and here!
It was a lot of fun, and very good for my current WIP because it really made me sit down and think about some issues in the story. I also wrote my very first blurb/pitch! I hope you’ll come by and check it out, learn about me and my writing! You can see the interview here!

I’ve finally decided on my business card. At least until I revamp the site the way I’d love to once I have time; once I do that, I’ll create a more unique business card. But for now, this will be great to hand out at RWA 2010. You can see the other two options I had tried before, if you’d like, by going here. This one is cleaner, and just more simple. I’ll take the other ones as extras just in case. The images are a bit grainy, but the actual cards are not.

Today I’ve registered for the Beau Monde Conference! It’s a conference inside of a conference, as it’s being held during the RWA 2010 National Conference. Author Galen Foley will be the keynote speaker, and there’ll be a Soiree and Silent Auction (complete with desserts, ‘gambling’ and a dance master!). Kalen Hughes (w/a Isobel Carr) has put together a great workshop schedule: Teaching the Regency Romance, Adapting Modern Themes for the Historical Novel (by my friend and author, Sabrina Darby!), Life of a Fallen Lady, There is a Life After Sexy (places to publish your sweet Regency), Servants and How Clothes Worked. Here’s information on it if you’d like to attend! While I won’t be dressing up, I will definitely be trying my best not to have two left feet on the dance floor!

Today was a marvelous (and HOT) day! I met up with the SoCal Blogger (and author) Group; a great bunch of book bloggers/reviewers and authors! Blogger Pearl_ROOB was visiting the states for the very first time, all the way from Holland!
We met at the Century City Mall to discuss books, romance, the industry, and just to generally have a great time. Starting out at Border’s and a book-buying frenzy, we then had lunch, and afterward, we had an incredible book exchange in the depths of the parking garage. Sadly a bunch of people had to drop out at the last moment, but as you can see, there were certainly tons of us! By going here and here, you can read about our adventure !

I’ve joined the Excerpt Monday Team! I will be running the New Release Monday every other month, along with new Team Member, Kendal Ashby! Excerpt Monday, (started by Bria Quinlan & Mel/Alexia Reed ) is a fantastic place where authors, writers, and poets share free excerpts from published books, contracted work or works in progress. It’s a great resource for writers to promote themselves and their work, and also a great way for readers to get some free reads! New Release Monday is the first of each month, and showcases New Releases from that month, and the month before. There is also a prize for those who comment, for a chance to win a basket of some of the New Releases. Here’s the link to the announcement, and here’s a link to the EM guidelines if you’d like to participate.

I’ve been thinking about going to the Romance Writers of America (RWA) National Conference since I first heard about it last year. Having gone back and forth this year between yes and no, worth it or not, I have decided that it is most definitely worth it for me. The workshops, the connections, the incredible authors and friends I will get to meet; all of it has made me conclude that it is worth every penny and minute. I plan on hitting the road to publication soon, and this will be a great benefit to me. So I have today registered for the Conference, which has been moved to Orlando, FL after a devastating flood in its original home for 2010, Nashville, TN. I can’t wait to meet everyone! I’m going to Disney World!
